Adopt-a-Grandparent (AGP) is an outreach program for older adults within Berea and surrounding communities. The program matches college student volunteers with community members of local long-term care centers. Volunteers visit with participants for at least an hour per week, and participate in special monthly programs.
AGP volunteers and staff have an opportunity to build one-on-one relationships with older adults while offering friendship, good conversations, and a smile. Volunteers often look at life from a new perspective after the experience, and learn about the past from a first-hand source, while also learning more about themselves.

My involvement with AGP allows me to form intergenerational relationships through meaningful and enriching connections with the older adults within the communities we serve.
