Davey serves as the Executive Director of the Berea College Appalachian Fund and Government Grant Services. A native Appalachian, he grew up in the coalfields of southern West Virginia. Davey graduated from Berea College in 1989 with bachelors degrees in political science and Spanish and obtained a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Kentucky in 1991. After a lengthy career in public service at the local and state government levels, Davey served with a regional nonprofit before joining the Strategic Initiatives team at Berea College in 2022. His interests away from work include cycling, exploring new places, folk dancing, and spending time with his family and pets.
