A former startup CEO, speaker, and strategist, Dan is fond of creating pitch decks and Trello boards (just ask his colleagues...or even his family).
Dan is experienced in architecting web applications, marketing, branding, fundraising, pitching, and community building. His experience spans several industries including: international distribution and shipping, retail (store fixtures inventory), telecommunications, and renewable agriculture and sustainable living (fun fact - he was a frequent speaker at the Mother Earth News Fair).
Dan is an unabashed gaming geek (D&D and euro board games).
Earthineer - programmed the first version of Earthineer, and managed the development team (3 person team) and contractors in building the successive versions of earthineer. Pitched to accredited investors and raised a seed round. Built a community of over 55K members, with MAU over 20%.
Berea College work
Most recently, Dan has directed the berea.edu website redesign (both design and development) which included: establish brand strategy, build equity as a cohesive brand across audiences, codify audience needs, create an “outcome-focused” website, improve donor experience on the web, Figma prototyping, visual aesthetics, marketing messaging, establish a modern approach to the codebase (faust.js), and vision for the future of the website.
On the marketing side, Dan was involved in the ideation and direction of the “Value of Free” campaign which included: pitching the concept, directing the ideation and conceptualization, writing interview questions, storyboarding, developing overarching strategic campaign, developing the “influencer” strategy and implementation, developing the Value of Free website, creating images for social, and managing the rollout.
