Our goal is to elevate the name recognition of the College nationally through conversations around its mission.
Berea College is a collection of stories waiting to be told and shared. The Marketing and Communications department is home to a group of skilled, creative professionals and students who craft these stories in print, electronic, digital and video formats to amplify the College’s audacious mission.
The multimedia team captures and produces still and moving images that present Berea College to external audience, including prospective students and their parents, alumni, donors, and other key stakeholders.
Our publications tell the “Berea Story” through the perspectives of faculty, students, staff, alumni, and friends of the College. We explore activities and ideas that shape campus life today, while keeping Berea’s history alive.
Media Relations gains regional and national media attention for Berea’s remarkable mission by sharing press releases with media outlets, managing interviews by media representatives, tracking news about Berea College, and sharing news via Berea’s print and digital platforms.
Social media is a great way to build community and increase interaction with Berea students, alumni, faculty, staff, prospective students, and donors. Berea College has several official social media pages including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok. Follow us!
Web Development and Design
Our web team builds, manages, and maintains the college website. The site was built using the faust.js framework, and is a headless CMS. The team also maintains over 30 other sites, for various campus constituents and centers.
There are over 1.5M non-profits vying for philanthropic attention. In an attempt to rise about the noise, we have taken an approach that we’ve dubbed “mission marketing”, and it has been informing everything from content creation (magazine, social, and website), to our recent website redesign, latest marketing campaigns, and over-arching strategy.
Berea’s marketing campaigns will be built around content seeking to engage new readers and build relationships.
