Bio

Dr. McKee first joined the faculty of Berea in 2014 as an ASIANetwork-Luce Foundation Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow after receiving a Ph.D. in International Studies from Old Dominion University. Dr. McKee regularly works with the National Consortium for Teaching About Asia, has published in the Association for Asian Studies (AAS)’ journal Education About Asiaand is currently working on a volume for the AAS series Key Issues in Asian Studies on Japanese politics and government. She enjoys teaching classes on comparative and East Asian politics and has taken students on study trips to Japan and China. In addition to pedagogy,  Dr. McKee’s research interests are energy policy and security, especially nuclear energy policy in the United States and Japan.

Dr. McKee is on sabbatical during the 2022-2023 academic year, during which time she will join the U.S.-Japan Network for the Future, sponsored by the Mansfield Foundation and the Japan Center for Global Partnerships.
