After graduating from Berea College in 2010, Wesley Gift returned to the institution to launch his marketing career and implemented social media marketing practices to enhance recruitment in higher education. He would later bring this expertise to the recruiting team at Eastern Kentucky University before making a jump to the corporate world, assisting national brands such as Fazoli's and Save A Lot grocery with advertising, digital marketing, customer service management and loyalty app support.

After a 14-year career in various industries, he joined the faculty of his alma mater in 2025 to teach marketing and other courses.

In addition to his background in marketing, Wesley Gift is an award-winning playwright, an editor for Keenspot Comics, and serves as a contributing author to the industry periodical Comic Shop News.
