Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Overview

This dashboard illustrates greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions data at Berea College. The Office of Sustainability conducts the GHG Inventory for the college annually, using the Sustainability Indicator Management & Analysis Platform tool, or SIMAP.

GHG emissions on this dashboard are illustrated in two ways. The first is by scope, which highlights the total direct emissions (Scope 1) and indirect emissions (Scopes 2 and 3) generated due to the college’s day-to-day operations. Direct emissions are those from sources that Berea College owns or controls. Indirect emissions are from sources not owned or controlled by the college but are attributed to its activities

The second visualization highlights emissions by source, including emissions from stationary and mobile sources, purchased electricity, commuting, air travel, fugitive emissions, etc.
