Anna Smith
Residence Hall
Anna Smith Hall houses approximately 80 first-year residents on three residential floors. Each floor has primarily double occupancy rooms, access to a study space, and a shared restroom. The facility provides elevator access to all floors, building wide air-conditioning, and internet services in each room. A full kitchen and laundry facilities can be found in the basement.
Each room in Anna Smith is stocked with a mini fridge and has large windows that let in lots of sunlight. The basement level houses a lounge area largely used by the hall staff to host events and hall programming, as well as a sizeable study room with a whiteboard for residents to use. A live-in professional staff is on sight at this location to help meet the needs of each resident and promote and participate in the thriving hall community.
Anna Smith Hall was built in 1950 and renovated in 2014. The building has southern charm with a modern update. Anna Smith provides a homey feel with a welcoming front patio and lush outdoor green space on multiple sides of the building. The hall is also in great proximity to main campus buildings - a 3-5 minute walk to the Alumni, Woods-Penniman and Fairchild Buildings. The hall is just steps away from the College Square providing easy access to Boone Tavern, the college Visitor Center & Shop, Log House Craft Gallery, and more.
The hall currently has 24/7 visitation and is anticipated to house a predominantly female community.
