Quarterly & Check-Ins
Unlike the formal annual review, Quarterly Check-ins are designed to be agile, forward-looking, and conversation-driven. They serve as a dedicated space to calibrate goals, remove roadblocks, and celebrate progress in real-time.
Why Quarterly Check-ins Matter
How to Utilize NEOED for Check-Ins
Our NEOED Perform module is built to support these conversations. Using the system ensures that your coaching is documented and easily accessible during the annual cycle.
The Journal Entry Feature: Throughout the quarter, use the “Journal” tool in NEOED to jot down specific wins or observations. You can “tag” these entries to specific competencies so they automatically surfact during your meeting.
Prompts & Questions to Ask
A great check-in is 80% listening and 20% guiding. Use these prompts to spark a deeper conversation.
| Focus Area | Questions to Ask |
| Reflection | What accomplishment this quarter are you most proud of? What was the biggest challenge you faced? |
| Roadblocks | What is one thing I could do (or stop doing) to better support your work? Are there any “bottlenecks” slowing you down? |
| Alignment | Do you feel your current daily tasks align with the goals we set? Which of your strengths are you using most right now? |
| Growth | What is one new skill you’d like to focus on in the next 90 days? How can we apply the 70-20-10 model to that skill? |
Tip: Start the meeting by asking “On a scale of 1-10, how supported do you feel in your role right now?” Their answer provides immediate context for the rest of the conversation.
