A “Requisition” is simply the digital version of a request to fill a vacancy or create a new position.

The Workflow:

<li>Preparation: Before starting in NEOED, ensure you have an updated Job Description (Class Spec). If you are creating a new role, contact your HRBP first to establish the classification.</li>
<li>Start the Req: From Your NEOED Dashboard, go to Quick Actions &gt; Create a Requisition. <li>Key Fields to Complete:
<ul>
<li>Working Title: This is what applicants will see on the Careers page.</li>
<li>Hiring Manager: Usually the direct supervisor and anyone on the hiring committee.</li>
<li>Approval Group: Follow the pre-built workflow (typically HR → VP → President’s Office)</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>The HR Partnership: Once you hit “Submit,” your requisition travels through the approval chain. HR will perform a final review, attach the official job positing and go live on our job boards.</li>
</ul>

Creating a Requisition (The Position Request)

Committee members (Raters) will receive an email notification when it is time to review. They can access the “My Tasks” section of their dashboard to begin.

The Search Committee Portal

As the Hiring Manager or Committee Chair, you can move candidates through different “buckets” to keep the process organized:

<li>Referred: The initial pool of candidates that have applied.</li>
<li>Interview: Mark the top candidates you wish to invite to campus.</li>
<li>Rejected: For candidates not moving forward. Remember to select a specific “Inactivation Reason” to help HR with compliance reporting. Do not send a notification at this time, HR will do so when they close out the Requisition.</li>
</ul>
