Tessa Riley

I serve as an HR Business Partner, supporting a wide range of departments including Student Affairs, Work-Learning Service, and Academic Affairs. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Berea College and my Master’s degree from Eastern Kentucky University, and I also hold my Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification.

My approach to Human Resources is grounded in trust, thoughtful partnership, and meaningful contribution. I believe the best outcomes happen when people feel respected, supported, and connected through authentic relationships.

I enjoy digging deep into challenges, learning the “why” behind processes, and helping departments navigate complex people matters with clarity and care. My goal is not only to solve problems, but also to create lasting value for employees and the institution as a whole.

For me, HR is ultimately about people — building trust, supporting growth, and making a positive impact wherever possible.

Outside of work, I reside in Berea with my husband, Koty, and our three children, Blakely, London, and Lincoln.
