Unmatched Financial Aid

Your financial aid package is tailored just for you and your financial need. Berea starts with our no tuition commitment, and then funds as much housing and food as your federal Student Aid Index allows. Berea is one of only a few colleges nationwide that does not include loans to meet a student’s calculated financial need.

We are here to help.

85%
of Berea’s fall 2025 class attend at zero cost.

Berea covers the cost of tuition, housing, food and fees.

$0
The amount every enrolled student pays in tuition

Berea College has paid every student’s tuition since 1892. In addition, the College covers as much housing, meals and fees as allowed by the FAFSA.

Washington Monthly magazine has ranked Berea College the #1 "Best Bang for the Buck" College in the South in its 2024 College Guide and Rankings

In order to create the best financial aid package possible, we blend generous funding from Berea with federal and state grants, a federal work college scholarship, your outside scholarships, and additional awards you may be eligible for. As required by federal regulations, your financial aid is based on your household income and, in some cases, your FAFSA might require a family contribution.  These scenarios map sample financial aid packages but your personalized financial aid package will be intentionally designed to meet your financial need.
