Bernice Ramirez grew up in Belize City, Belize, and began her journey at Berea College in the spring of 2021. Before that, she attended Claremont Boarding School in East Sussex, England, through the Pestalozzi International Foundation scholarship, gaining a rich intercultural perspective. Her academic journey and extensive travels have strengthened her ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds. While at Berea, Bernice worked at the college’s daycare, the farm, the Admissions Office, the Music Department, and as a Management and Accounting teaching assistant for the Economics and Business department.
Beyond labor experiences, Bernice has left her mark in Financial Accounting and Data Analysis roles, interning at UK Healthcare’s Finance Department and FAHE as a Financial Reporting Analyst. Her attention to detail, experience in data metrics and analysis, and openness in adopting innovative and creative approaches led her to join the Office of Continuous Improvement as a Data Associate. In this role, she supports OCI in leading improvement initiatives across campus, including facilitation, training, data entry, and project coordination, among many other responsibilities. Bernice is known for her cheerful, positive presence, strong work ethic, and musical talent—she plays piano and violin, and sings in her local church choir.
