Directions to the bell hooks center

Berea is located about 40 miles south of Lexington, KY, just off Interstate 75. The driving time from Louisville, KY, Knoxville, TN, or Cincinnati, OH, is roughly two hours. Draper, a three-story brick building with a bell tower, is one of the historic buildings on campus and houses the bell hooks center. Draper will serve as the bell hooks symposium headquarters.

To reach the Draper Building:

From Interstate 75, take Exit 76 and head east into the town of Berea. (If you are traveling northbound on Interstate 75, turn right off of the exit ramp. If you are traveling southbound on Interstate 75, turn left off of the exit ramp.)

Continue straight on this road (Chestnut Street) for approximately 2 miles. After stoplight #7 (Ellipse St.), you’ll be on the main part of campus. Draper sits back on the left, and Boone Tavern (along with shops and eateries) is straight ahead on S. Main Street.

Please note: Draper’s GPS address is 230 Campus Drive, Berea, KY. However, that will take you behind the building. See the campus map for visitor parking.

Airport Travel:

If you are flying in for the symposium, the two closest airports are Blue Grass Airport in Lexington, Kentucky and Louisville Mohammed Ali International Airport in Louisville, Kentucky. We highly recommend renting a car from the airport as Berea has no public transportation and limited rideshare options.
