Biography

Teresa Kash Davis ’84, CFRE, is currently the Senior Associate Vice President for Alumni and Philanthropy at Berea College. She leads the Alumni, Individual and Planned Philanthropy teams while managing a portfolio of friends, alumni, and prospective supporters. Teresa was Chair of the Breaking Silence Celebration for the Janis Ian Archives at Berea College.

After a career as a financial entrepreneur and executive in 2012, Teresa transitioned to serve her alma mater. Now, with more than a decade of fundraising experience and increasing responsibility, she enjoys interacting with and supporting current students. After fundraising for the Berea College Concert Choir trips, she traveled to Spain, Portugal, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, and Ireland, introducing new audiences to Berea College. She served as a lead fundraiser for the MAC Natural Sciences and Health Building. Teresa enjoys working alongside dedicated faculty, staff, donors, and volunteers to help provide educational opportunities for the best and brightest of low-wealth, high-potential students from Appalachia and beyond.

Teresa hails from Frenchburg, a small town of 500 in Menifee County in eastern Kentucky, in the heart of Appalachia. She graduated from Berea in 1984 with a B.S. in Business Administration. As a Berea student, Teresa worked as an English Department teacher’s assistant, Hutchins Library Special Collections associate, a tutor, a Boone Tavern server, and a front desk clerk. She notes these positions provided a sound foundation and professional preparedness for her career.

Teresa and her husband have been married since 1992. They have two adult children; both graduated from universities in Kentucky. The family loves to travel, shop, swim, hike, play board games and host big gatherings. Beyond work, Teresa volunteers to help those in need. She is a leader in her local church, and she is a former board member of the Christian Appalachian Project.
