Bio

Tiffany Sokolowski is a communications and graphic design professional and Kentucky native with an extensive background in journalism, storytelling, and higher education communications. She brings years of experience as a journalist, columnist, blogger, and designer, applying both narrative craft and visual strategy to strengthen institutional messaging and student‑centered communication efforts.

Sokolowski was drawn to Berea College because of its mission and the meaningful impact the institution has on students’ lives. She is particularly inspired by Berea’s distinctive Work Program, where students are not only admitted to the College but also hired and equipped with transferable skills that prepare them for success beyond graduation. She especially enjoys working with students in the Admissions Office, supporting their growth as communicators, creators, and emerging professionals.

Her commitment to storytelling began early and has been shaped by her experiences living in Louisville and throughout central and southeastern Kentucky. Influenced by Southern and Appalachian voices, she developed an appreciation for authentic dialogue and regional narratives that continue to inform her work. Sokolowski authored her first book in elementary school and has since published numerous nonfiction titles, as well as two fiction series.

On Berea’s campus, her favorite location is the Great Commitments Society Garden in the Draper Building courtyard, a space she finds reflective of Berea’s values and community spirit.

Sokolowski resides in Madison County, Kentucky, with her husband, their daughter, and three cats.
