Bio

Mark Huguely serves as a Philanthropy Officer at Berea College, where he connects generous alumni and friends with opportunities to transform lives through the power of philanthropy.

Originally from Richmond, Kentucky, Mark brings a deep appreciation for Berea’s mission of providing high-quality education to students of great promise and limited financial means. In his role, he partners with supporters to make meaningful investments in scholarships, planned giving, and strategic campus initiatives that leave a lasting legacy.

What inspires Mark most is helping donors see the real and lasting impact of their generosity—whether it’s a first-generation student earning their degree, a new initiative taking shape on campus, or a legacy that supports future generations.

When he’s not on the road visiting donors or representing Berea at regional events, Mark enjoys spending time with his wife, Merrilyn, and their son, Nico. Together, they love traveling—especially to the Caribbean and Latin America—and making the most of their time together. Mark is also an avid gamer and lifelong learner, always curious to discover something new—through a story, a city, or a conversation.

Mark strives to bring Berea’s mission to life wherever the College’s extended community calls home—whether that’s a donor in downtown Boston or a supporter in the mountains of Montana. He welcomes the chance to connect—whether you’re looking to support a cause close to your heart, re-engage with Berea, or simply learn more about the College’s ongoing impact.

Feel free to reach out to him today by email at huguelym@berea.edu or by phone at 859-302-2708 to start a conversation or schedule a future consultation.
