Bio

Ariq Skinner serves as a Philanthropy Officer at Berea College for the western United States. With over a decade of experience in sales and insurance, Ariq has honed his skills in building long-lasting relationships, and his colleagues can attest that he is one of the most lively and approachable members of the team.

Raised by his loving grandparents in Louisville, KY, Ariq discovered his passion for stage acting, vocal performance, and the culture of eastern Kentucky while earning his B.A. in English at the University of Pikeville. He even authored a creative non-fiction short story, Finding Home, which was published by the Appalachian Studies Association in 2015.

Ariq resides in Berea and is a proud father of two sons, and happily married to Samantha Dodson-Skinner, who works for Partners for Rural Impact, a national non-profit. When he's not busy being a mentor or performing in community theater, Ariq indulges his passion for spoken word poetry and bad jokes.

Above all, Ariq is a dedicated supporter of Berea's mission, and he is eager to hear your story and help you make a difference through philanthropy. Get in touch with Ariq today and discover the impact you can make together!
