Honor Society of Nursing

Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for Nurses

Sigma Theta Tau International (Sigma) was founded in 1922 and now has more than 100,000 active members and 600 chapters. Sigma’s vision is “connected, empowered nurse leaders transforming global healthcare.” They are “dedicated to the advancement of knowledge, teaching, learning and service through the cultivation of communities of practice, education, and research.”

Berea College partners with the University of Kentucky’s Delta Psi Chapter of STTI to admit nursing students to this prestigious organization. Juniors and Senior nursing students in the top 35% of their cohort with a 3.0 or high GPA are invited to join this honor society each spring.

Each year at the Pinning Ceremony, a Sigma Theta Tau Delta Psi Chapter-At-Large senior award is presented each year to a senior who has excelled in academics, leadership, promise and growth. For more information about STTI, click here.
