Green Dot

Green Dot is a bystander intervention program built on the premise that we can measurably and systematically reduce violence within any given community. We are proud to be a Green Dot school and offer training to students, staff, faculty, and administrators.

90 minute faculty and staff training introduces employees to the basic elements of Green Dot, focusing specifically on the vital role that college employees play in establishing and reinforcing the culture within which students exist.  The program is designed to help employees understand the expanded definition of “bystander” and to equip all college employees to integrate within their current job functions key behaviors that establish two norms: (1) violence won’t be tolerated, (2) everyone – including college employees – does their part to keep the campus free from violence and fear of violence.

In addition to offering Faculty-Staff training, we will also offer two full-day student training sessions (employees are welcome to attend).  For Labor areas that are interested in introducing their students to the Green Dot principles, our trainers are available to do Green Dot Overview sessions during Labor Meetings.  We’ll offer these Overview sessions during the two weeks prior to a student training.  Contact Katie Basham at 859-985-3606 for additional information.
