Berea College is pleased to announce that Jeffrey L. Richey was selected from a competitive, national pool of nominees to participate in a faculty seminar on the teaching of interfaith understanding. The seminar was offered by the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) and Interfaith Youth Core (IFYC), with support from the Henry Luce Foundation. 2011 Commencement is May 8 @ 2 p.m.

Acclaimed Appalachian Author Gurney Norman is the speaker for Berea College’s 139th commencement, May 8.

Gurney Norman, Kentucky Poet Laureate in 2009-10 and director of the University of Kentucky’s creative writing program, will address 240 candidates for graduation during Berea College’s 139th commencement on Sunday, May 8, at 2 p.m. in the main arena in Seabury Center. Berea Students Make “Empowering” Visit to D.C.

During the week of October 22 to 26, Berea College students Ethan Hamblin and Musa Jitmoud, along with Berea Campus Life Director Holli Hudson, traveled to Washington, D.C. for the Interfaith Leadership Institute (ILI).The students attended multiple conferences focused on spreading interfaith dialogue and initiatives across college campuses.
