Policies concerning bicycle safety and storage are currently being reviewed on campus. Starting in 2009, Public Safety will remove any bicycle on campus that causes an immediate hazard. Immediate hazards consist of (but are not limited to) bicycles chained to handicap ramps, steps, fire hydrants, gas meters, or found to be blocking entrances/exits of buildings. Due to reports of damage to trees on campus, please avoid locking bicycles to trees or other places that could cause damage or safety hazards.
Public Safety and Facilities Management are not responsible for damages done to the locking mechanism or bicycle while removing bicycles from campus. Bicycles that are impounded can be picked up by the owner by appointment only.
