How to Use Fileshare

To access the Fileshare server on the network (Windows users):

  1. Go to Start
  2. Click Run
  3. Type in \fileshare and click OK
  4. Open the Departmental folder
  5. Open the Printing Services folder
  6. Open the Public folder
  7. You may place files into the Work for Andy folder or the Work for Linda folder

If you are a Macintosh user, do the following:

  1. In the Finder menu (the word “Finder” will be in bold next to the Apple logo in the top left corner), select Go in the menu bar and pull down  Connect to Server…
  2. Where it says “Server Address”, type smb://fileshare and click the Connect button
  3. A dialog box will appear asking you which volumes you want to mount. Select Departmental and click OK. The volume will appear on your desktop.
  4. Open the Printing Services folder
  5. Open the Public folder
  6. You may place files into the Work for Andy folder or the Work for Linda folder
  7. To disconnect from Fileshare, simply “eject/put away” the Departmental volume by dragging it to the trash can
