A college-going culture
Creating a college-going culture in school is vital. Partners for Education staff work in conjunction with school leadership, faculty, and staff to create an environment that inspires and supports students’ college and career goals and provides all students access to advising and activities linking school, personality, and aptitude to career and college. College fairs and campus visits enables students to investigate the possibilities, while workshops on student financial aid and college success helps parents and students prepare to make going to college a reality.
Mentors and guides
Partners for Education staff then serve as mentors and guides as students navigate transitioning from high school to college. Students receive advice and assistance in course selection, assistance in preparing for college entrance exams and completing college admissions applications and assistance completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students also participate in college tours and on-campus residential programs across the region that allows them to experience college life and envision themselves succeeding in a college setting.
