Thank you for watching the CBS special presentation of Listen! A Musical Celebration of Christmas at Berea College. We are so very pleased you joined us and have accepted our invitation for more information.
Berea’s motto, “God has made of one blood all peoples of the earth” (Acts 17:26), shapes the College’s culture and programs. And this, we are proud to say, is what you saw on the stage tonight.
Students and faculty from all walks of life and from communities across the nation and world, coming together to share the good news of Christ’s birth and his message of unconditional love: A love that gives no thought to your skin color, nationality, or social status. Christ’s love proclaims we are all equal in the eyes of God and that the greatest commandment is that we love one another as He loved us. Our founder, John G. Fee, was moved by Christ’s message when he, under great peril, started the first interracial and coeducational school in the South, believing that education should be available to all without regard to race, gender, or ability to pay.
This is why all Berea College students receive a Tuition Promise Scholarship, enabling them to earn a high quality liberal arts education with little or no debt. But, in addition to a college education, our students receive experiences that make them better citizens of the world. We pray that you were inspired by what you saw and heard tonight. We hope that you will join us in fulfilling the promise that is within each of us.
