Sites Hosting Previous Internships

The following sites hosted Berea College interns from 2017-2019 (They may or may not be offering current positions). Internship sites are often selected by the student based on individual needs or networking connections, but this list may be helpful to students and faculty when brainstorming options. The list is sorted first by the academic department granting the credit, then by city, then by site name.

KEEP Internship Program

As a result of a partnership between Berea College and the Kiyosato Educational Experiment Project (KEEP), each year a small group of Berea students has the opportunity to spend a summer working at a diverse non-profit in rural Yamanashi Prefecture, located just a few hours’ travel west of Tōkyō, Japan.  This is a great way in which to fulfill the College’s Active Learning Experience (ALE) requirement.

KEEP Application Deadline: December 1 (for the following summer’s internship)

Another possibility to consider is a micro-internship to add some project-based work to your resume. Parker Dewey micro-internships are paid, remote, non-credit experiences that target students with the skills to complete the project independently. Projects are short-term, varying from a few days to a week, so check out their application process if you are interested (F-1 students are not eligible because these internships do not qualify for academic credit). We recommend that students only undertake micro-internships during breaks or when they do not have a full class load. They might also be good options for students who are on a leave of absence.
