Mountain Day

FRESH Start is the initiative developed from the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) at Berea College. FRESH is an acronym for First-year Residential Experience Supporting Health. To help students transition to college our initiative is here to engage students into their new community. While learning the dimensions of wellness students are connecting with their peers, hall staff, and instructors.

There are many opportunities for participation in events for your student. Your student will learn about our events in his/her residence hall, in their WELL 101 course, and on B-Linked. Students are encouraged by residence hall staff to attend events for Pinnacle Points and the chance to win the Pinnacle Cup competition.

FRESH Start events are FREE to all Berea College students.

Some of the benefits your student will receive by participating in FRESH Start are connecting with other students that live in their residence hall by attending the programming events. Your student will have a part in learning health, wellness, and how to manage stress. When your student participates with their residence hall by engaging in activities and earning points, students can win the Pinnacle Cup competition which gives them priority housing selection for the next academic year, a catered meal and their hall’s name on the Pinnacle Cup itself.

Yes, all Berea College students can participant in FRESH Start activities. FRESH Start is housed inside of the first-year residence halls as healthy activities when students want to break away from studying.
