2002-2003 EPG Fellows Reflections
|Adrienne Mayse“EPG offered me a lot of practical skills, but what I took most away from it was a personal understanding of Appalachia—its strengths and its challenges. The open, constructive dialogue on race, culture, and values that my class cultivated was such a positive experience. It taught me that there’s no reason to be afraid to talk to people you disagree with about the topics you disagree on; those conversations, in fact, are really worthwhile and can be a lot of fun.”
Adrienne currently resides in Indiana where she attends school in hopes of one day teaching middle school students.
