Through a generous grant, Berea College Craft Education and Outreach Program is able to provide opportunities to engage traditional craft media through demonstrations and workshops.
We are committed to providing schools in Appalachia to learn and make at Berea College’s Craft Education Center.arts programming at no cost to your school. In addition, if your school is eligible, our grant will reimburse your schools travel costs to Berea College for attending our craft education programming.
By participating in a Craft Education and Outreach Program, your students will experience and learn techniques that assist you in your classroom by:
- Collaborate in developing a program that is a continuation of your classroom.
- Students engage in experiential learning in working with craft media
- Learning techniques, art concepts, and specific craft terminology
- Gain exposure to the Appalachian culture & tradition of “Making”
