Kentucky COVID-19 update
Kentucky is reporting only 69 new cases today, but Gov. Beshear says this is due to a software problem with the federal system that states use to submit their reports. Tomorrow’s numbers will be higher and reflect the missing cases in today’s report. There were 9 deaths in KY. Of the new reported cases, one was said to be in Madison County.
Town Hall for staff and faculty tomorrow
Members of the AC and other Bereans working on our planning are eager to take part in the dialog tomorrow. Our thanks to the leadership of the Staff Forum and the General Faculty Assembly for arranging this session. We look forward to your questions and comments. (We are planning to prepare a summary for sharing with students after the session.)
On Monday the web site Daily Good reprinted an essay by our own bell hooks first posted by her in 2016. It is entitled, “Love as the Practice of Freedom,” and it points to the need for love as motivation to end mistreatment of any and all victims in our society. In lieu of a prayer today consider reading this powerful work. You can find it here.
(Many thanks to Carla Baumann for passing this along.)
Stay safe, Bereans,
Lyle Roelofs, President
