Daily COVID-19 Update: April 28, 2020

Dear Bereans,

This is the update for Tuesday, April 28, 2020.

Kentucky update

Last evening Governor Beshear was quite upbeat about the COVID-19 situation in the Commonwealth.  He reported the first time in several weeks that the number of new cases in the state is less than 100 and thought that we could be a little more confident about having reached the plateau.  His administration is working toward how phases of re-opening will occur, starting May 11thand stepping forward week by week from there.  Nothing really yet as to how that will affect the colleges and universities of Kentucky.

An announcement from HR

We have had several inquiries if the staff will be allowed to start adjusted work weeks this summer.  The AC has approved the start of this program as of May 1st, 2020.  Please remember this is a voluntary program. Recall, as well, that employees wishing to take advantage of the flexible summer hours need to consult with their supervisor to determine whether the nature of their duties all for this option.

Hang in there and be safe, everyone!
