Students Present Workshop at National Service Conference
On Saturday, April 2nd, CELTS student workers presented a workshop at the 2011 IMPACT Conference in DeLand, Florida at Stetson University. IMPACT is a national conference focusing on service, social justice and advocacy where hundreds of college students, staff, and representatives of nonprofit organizations gather from across the nation.
At the conference, workshops and speakers address issues such as hunger and homelessness, climate change, community economic development, health and global topics. Berea students Corey Lewis, Gary Zornes, and Lilly Belanger presented a workshop entitled “Step by Step: Students Leading Students in Service” where they discussed the structure of CELTS, demonstrated how student leaders interact with workers and volunteers, and played interactive networking games with their audience.
