Five Professors Receive Grants for Study in Asia/Pacific This Summer

The Asian Studies Program congratulates Professors Shan Ayers, Rebecca Bates, Robert Foster, Gordon Gray, and Michelle Tooley on their acceptance by various intensive study programs based in the Asia/Pacific region this summer!  Professor Ayers and Tooley will study Chinese and Japanese art, literature, and religion at the East-West Center in Honolulu, Hawai’i.  Professors Bates and Foster will study Indian culture and history in India through the National Endowment for the Humanities.  Finally, as previously announced, Professor Gray will study in Vietnam through the ASIANetwork Faculty Enhancement Program.
