“Queer & Country” was an event that was hosted by the Harvey Milk Society as a part of Pulse’s “Coming Out Week.” It took place at the Berea College Loyal Jones Appalachian Center on Monday, October 15, 2012. This event featured three LGBTQ Eastern Kentuckians who described their journeys toward understanding in their hearts, families, churches, jobs, and schools. The speakers included Lu Fields from Knox County, Ada Smith from Letcher County, and Jon Coleman from Pike County. A Q&A sessions occurred after the speakers shared their stories.
