The LJAC Gallery
The LJAC Gallery is the heart of the Center. It is a great place to start your quest to learn or teach about Appalachia. Designed as a quickly transformable multifunctional space, it serves as visitors center, classroom, exhibition space, student hangout, theater, meeting room, and performance hall.
The gallery’s exhibits introduce people to the Appalachian Region. The LJAC Gallery is open to public visitors weekdays from 8:30am to 5:00pm, except when in use by classes, for special programs, and on Berea College Holidays.
The LJAC holds most of its educational programming and events in the Gallery, such as our series of Dinner on the Grounds. Berea College and community groups can request to use the Gallery for educational programming and meetings. Faculty are invited schedule the Gallery for special teaching sessions related to Appalachia.
To request to use the Gallery, please contact: Sheila Lyons, Program Associate. (859) 985-3140, firstname.lastname@example.org.
Also, if you are interested in hearing about our events as they are coming up, please join The Quilt mailing list. You can do so by writing AppalachianCenter@berea.edu with “add to the Quilt” in the subject line.
