The Berea College Public Relations Department sponsors walking
Historical and Craft Tours free of charge to all visitors. The
student-led Historical Tour generally follows the route outlined
in red on the campus map below. The Craft Tour features students
making items in the broomcraft, weaving, woodcraft, and wrought
iron departments. Both tours begin at the Visitors Center located
on Center and Short Streets, one-half block north of the Boone
Tavern Hotel and Dining Room. Each tour lasts approximately
50 minutes. Visitors are encouraged to ask questions throughout
the tour.
Special requests to vary the tour should be made
in advance. Groups of 20 or more are asked to make reservations
in advance as well. Visitors
should note since all tour guides are students, class schedules
may not permit absolute flexibility.
For a preview of some buildings discussed on the tour, click on
the buildings highlighted in color below. Visitors may also learn
more about all the campus facilities by viewing the campus
map.
