| The Visitors
Center at College Square, managed by the Public
Relations department, is the starting point for a fifty-minute walking
tour that provides an historical overview of the College.
Covering three-quarters of a mile, this student-led tour
visits notable structures including the Frost
Building (originally
a Carnegie Library), Phelps
Stokes Chapel (built by students
in 1904–1906), and the Draper
Classroom Building (rededicated
in 2002 following a 14-month, $11 million, eco-friendly renovation).
In addition, we offer tours of the Student
Crafts program
including broomcraft, weaving, woodcraft, and wrought iron
production areas where students produce handmade items sold
in the Boone Tavern Hotel Gift Shop and the Log
House Craft Gallery.
The Visitors Center at College Square features a
theatre for watching historical videos of the College, and
is located within
a minute’s walk to Boone
Tavern Hotel and the shops and
galleries on College Square.
