Each of the eight counties we serve also has a field teacher or

What is a counselee group?
A counselee group
is what each student is assigned to prior to arrival for
the summer. Each group has five to six members
including one staff member, known as a Tutor-Counselor
and one Assistant Counselor, who is also a student
in the program.
In order to be an Assistant Counselor a student with
at least one summer in the program may apply. Every night
the counselee
group meets to discuss events for the next day and
reflect on the closing day. The groups make it more fun to do
things throughout the summer, such as trips and events. But
the
great bond that happens over the summer with your group
and others
is what is most important.
What is Upward Bound really
all about?
Upward Bound is all about family. Over the period of
six weeks one becomes so attached to so many others
that they
think of
them as family. I guess helping bright young minds
be creative, and shine through is what makes UB
seem like
family. Nowhere
else in the world is there such a place of love,
understanding, and encouragement. Here one's talents don't
go unnoticed
or ignored. Here we pull them out and show students
that they
are great, that we love them, and that we believe
in them. That is what UB is really all about.
