Board of Residents members from left
to right: Nina Yarbrough, Michael Cox, Jessica Hornsby
(Chair), Stephany Whitaker (Clerk) and William Miller.
The
Board of Residents was created by the new Constitution passed in
Spring 2004, as a successor to the former Inter-Residence Hall
Council. The Board of Residents consists of an elected delegate
from each residence hall, a member of the faculty, and the Director
of Residence Life (or designate), who does not vote. The purpose
of the Board of Residents is to establish all elections procedures
for House Councils of residence halls/units, encourage and sponsor
residential events that contribute to awareness, knowledge, and
thought about contemporary issues, and make all legislation necessary
and proper for residential governance.
