American
Folklife Center
The American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress was created
by Congress in 1976 "to preserve and present American Folklife." The
Center incorporates the Archive of Folk Culture, which was established
at the Library in 1928 as a repository for American Folk Music. The
Center and its collections have grown to encompass all aspects of
folklore and folklife from this country and around the world. (Description

Corporation for National and Community Service
The Corporation for National and Community Service provides opportunities
for Americans of all ages and backgrounds to serve their communities
and country through three programs: Senior Corps, AmeriCorps,
and Learn and Serve America. Members and volunteers serve with
national and community nonprofit organizations, faith-based groups,
schools, and local agencies to help meet community needs in education,
the environment, public safety, homeland security, and other
critical areas. The Corporation is part of USA Freedom Corps,
a White House initiative to foster a culture of citizenship,
service, and responsibility, and help all Americans answer the
President's Call to Service.

Human Relations Commission
The Louisville and Jefferson County Human Relations Commission
seeks to be a bridge among the ethnic, racial and religious groups
that form the rich mosaic of our community.

Kentucky Education, Arts and Humanities Cabinet
The Kentucky Education, Arts and Humanities Cabinet is charged
with the mission of preserving Kentucky's heritage, preparing
for its future and promoting a statewide culture of lifelong
learning. With the leadership of Governor Ernie Fletcher and
Secretary Virginia G. Fox, the agencies of the Cabinet provide
or oversee services that contribute to an enhanced quality of
life for all Kentuckians; excellence in public education, quality
libraries, the preservation of historical materials and landmarks
and cultural enrichment through the arts.

Migrant Education Program
The goal of the Migrant Education Program is to ensure that all
migrant students reach challenging academic standards and graduate
with a high school diploma (or complete a GED) that prepares
them for responsible citizenship, further learning and productive
employment.
