The Commons House is the hub of many Ecovillage events such as
weekly luncheons and sustainability workshops. The building houses
a kitchen, a meeting room, a "kid room", laundry facilities, mailboxes,
and the office of Connie Briggs, the Ecovillage Residential Life
Coordinator.
The Commons House design includes passive solar features,
energy efficient appliances, and cabinets, countertops, and carpets
made from recycled materials. Additional eco-design elements include
the use of reclaimed wood for siding and ceiling planks and a solar
water heating system used for radiant heat and hot water.
