Child Development LabThe Berea College Child Development Lab (CDL) fulfills a multifaceted mission.

First, the CDL is designed to provide high quality childcare and inclusive early education experience for the young children of college students, staff, and faculty.

Second, the CDL serves as a learning laboratory for college students involved in the programs within the Department of Child and Family Studies as well as other programs of study on campus such as nursing, psychology, and education studies.

Third, the CDL serves as a rich resource for the scholarly and creative work of faculty and students who have an interest in child development, family life, and teaching/ learning processes.

Fourth, the CDL serves the Appalachian Region by demonstrating exemplary services and by being a resource to other childcare and early education programs.

The Berea College Child Development Lab is administratively located within the Department of Child and Family Studies and is committed to upholding the Great Commitments of the college in each facet of its mission.
