The Berea College Appalachian Center is hosting a Grand Re-opening of its Gallery on Monday, September 1, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the Bruce Building.  The gallery has a welcoming new look and feel and new exhibits, following a six month renovation.  The space also will begin serving as a location for some Center sponsored programs.

Monday’s re-opening celebration will include music by the Berea College Bluegrass Ensemble with 2008 alums Ashley Long and Joshua Noah, along with a light lunch of local soup beans and cornbread.

Since 1970, the Appalachian Center has been instrumental in helping Berea College realize its commitment to education and service in Appalachia, and today there are dynamic programs responding to an ever-changing Appalachian region in the 21st century.  For more on the Center’s programs and activities, visit www.berea.edu/appalachiancenter.
