On May 9 at the Spring 2007 Service-Learning Course Expo, Berea
College students and faculty and representatives of community organizations
will come together to share highlights from their recent service-learning
projects. Those attending the Expo will be able to learn about
recent service-learning collaborations and to explore opportunities
to participate in future collaborations between Berea College and
the community through service-learning projects.
Service-learning projects are collaborative partnerships between
college and community. By working with community organizations,
college students apply academic knowledge to address community
issues, as identified by local organizations and community leaders.
The Spring 2007 Service-Learning Course Expo will take place in
Baird Lounge in the Alumni Building on the Berea College Campus
from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday May 9. The event is free
and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided.
