Baritone
David Holloway and pianist Graham Scott, guest artists from Chicago,
will perform a recital of songs and piano works at Berea College
on Sunday, Oct. 2, beginning at 3 p.m. in Gray Auditorium. The
program includes works by Vaughn-Williams, Chopin, Poulenc and
Rachmaninoff.
Holloway and Scott also will be teaching piano and voice master
classes, featuring Berea College students. The piano master class
is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 1, 2-4 p.m. in Gray Auditorium.
The voice master class will be Monday, Oct. 3, 10 a.m. – noon,
also in Gray Auditorium.
The three events, sponsored by the Berea College Music Department,
are free and open to the public.
Both Hollway and Scott are distinguished members of the faculty
of the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University.
David Holloway, who is chair of the Voice Department, has appeared
in operatic productions of the Chicago Opera Theater, the Lyric
Opera of Chicago, New York City opera, San Francisco, Houston,
Santa Fe and Washington, D.C. operas. He sang for seven seasons
with the Metropolitan Opera and was the leading baritone in the
ensemble of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Germany for ten years.
British pianist Graham Scott, chairman of the Piano Department,
has appeared as soloist with many leading orchestras including
the London Philharmonic, Saint Louis Symphony and the Monte Carlo
Philharmonic and has given recitals in New York, Washington D.C.’s
Kennedy Center and in London and Tokyo. |
