The
Berea College Concert Choir and Chamber Singers, Stephen Bolster, conductor,
will present its annual fall concert in Gray Auditorium on Sunday,
November 14 at 3:00 p.m.
The concert will feature music for choir and solo instruments from
a variety of musical periods and styles. The program includes twentieth-century
anthems by Philip Lawson, Eleanor Daley, Richard Nance, and Paul
Basler, Baroque motets by Andreas Hakenberger and Mikolaj Zielenski;
sacred and secular compositions by Charles Ives (in honor of the
50th anniversary of his death), part songs by Stephen Chatman and
Vijay Singh; and American Negro spirituals arranged by Damon Dandridge,
Lela Anderson, and André Thomas.
Accompanying the ensembles will be Berea College staff members Ryan
Shirar, pianist and new assistant staff accompanist; Susan Henthorn,
French horn; Atossa Kramer, clarinet; and Tripp Bratton, marimba,
along with two student drummers.
Admission to the concert is free and is open to the public.
