Life-coach Rev. Paula McGee, to lead “Accent on Christian Faith Week” at Berea College, September 29-30

 For Immediate Release 9/15/04

Paula McGee
Rev. Paula McGee, a life-coach who is committed to inspire every woman to accept and fulfill her call to greatness, will speak at Berea College on Thursday, September 30 at 3 p.m. in Phelps Stokes Chapel.

The event, co-sponsored by the Campus Christian Center, the Ruth Pister-Hampel Memorial Fund, the Black Studies Program, and the Black Cultural Center, is part of “Accent on Christian Faith Week” activities, September 28-30.

Tuesday through Thursday, McGee will also be leading noon worship services at Danforth Chapel.

A native of Flint, Michigan, McGee is a motivational speaker, writer, and president of Paula McGee Ministries, a nonprofit organization, whose mission is to help others to discover their calling and find personal peace and self-fulfillment.

Paula and her twin sister, Pam, were both high school and college basketball stars. Highly recruited, they went on to the University of Southern California, where they played on teams that won back-to-back National championships in 1983 and 1984. Following college, both went on to play professionally, and Paula also started a sports management agency where she represented her sister, Pam, in the WNBA. After a season with the Dallas Diamonds and five seasons in Italy and Spain, Paula left her professional career to pursue a call to Christian ministry

McGee is the co-founder of Christian Business Success Network, a nonprofit organization that specializes in training and providing support for Christian business leaders. She also is an ordained minister and the former Dean of Chapel at historic Fisk University.

She holds a Master of Divinity degree from the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, Ga., and a Master of Arts in Religion from Vanderbilt University. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Women's Studies in Religion at Claremont Graduate University in Claremont, Calif. She also is active in many different ways in the community of Claremont, where she lives
