College will host the 2004 Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference
(KIAC) men’s and women’s basketball championship tournaments
Feb. 26-28.
For the first time, tournament winners will automatically advance
to the National Intercollegiate Athletics Association (NAIA)
men’s and women’s national tournaments March 10-16.
All games will be played in Berea’s 2,000-seat Seabury
Center arena.Women’s games will be played in the afternoons
beginning at noon on Thursday, Feb. 26 and 1 p.m on Friday, Feb.
27. The women’s championship game will be played at 5 p.m.
on Saturday, Feb. 28. Men’s tournament games will begin
at 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday evenings. The men’s championship
game will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Members of the KIAC Div. II men’s basketball conference
in addition to the Berea College Mountaineers are Asbury College,
Bethel College, Indiana University Southeast, Spalding University
and St. Louis College of Pharmacy. Conference members in the
women’s division are the Berea College Lady Mountaineers,
Asbury College, Bethel College, Midway College, Indiana University
Southeast, Spalding University and St. Louis College of Pharmacy.
Ticket prices per day are $5 for adults; $3 for students and
$2 for students from participating schools. Three-day tournament
passes purchased in advance by Friday, Feb. 20 are $10 (adults);
$5 (students/children) and $3 (KIAC students). Pre-tournament
passes can be purchased through the Berea College Athletics department
or at any men’s or women’s home basketball game through
Feb. 20. Tournament passes at the door the first day of the tournament
