| Berea,
Ky. - Berea College has looked like a continual construction site
over the past several years. When will construction come to
an end? What will be the ultimate result? President Larry Shinn
will give an update on campus renovations and share his vision
for what's to come at Berea College at the next Berea Forum scheduled
Tuesday, March 11, 4 - 5 p.m., in Baird Lounge of the Alumni Building
on Berea College’s campus.
Dr. Shinn, president of Berea College since 1994, has led the
strategic planning process, providing vision for the college, in
what is termed as Being and Becoming: Berea College in the 21st
Century. The team-oriented decision making process at the college
has affected virtually every area of activity from student life
to academic planning to development and facilities renovation.
Come learn how the vision is taking shape.
Shinn earned his religious studies Ph.D. from Princeton University
and taught at Oberlin College and held professorial and administrative
positions at Bucknell University. He is also an ordained United
Methodist minister.
Berea Forum programs are free and open to the public. Meeting
times are scheduled the second Tuesday of every month (unless otherwise
noted), from 4 - 5 p.m., and are planned by a committee of retired
persons with staff assistance provided by Berea College’s
Office of Special Programs. Parking is available behind the Alumni
Building and also behind Boone Tavern. For additional information,
