Berea,
Ky (9/18/02) Berea College's Seabury Center will be rockin' when
Mojo and the Bayou Gypsies perform there Oct. 9.
Beginning at 8 p.m., Mojo and his Krewe will perform original
Zydeco and Cajun music, Bayou comedy, introductions to Bayou
culture and dance lessons, all with audience participation. Featured
on television, radio, and in print media, Mojo and his band are
leading performers of Cajun music who bill themselves as "the
mos' fun y'all can have wit' clothes on."
Mojo, the leader of the Bayou Gypsies, has performed for more
than thirty years. He is the host of the syndicated radio show, “The
Red Hot Mojo Hour”, the star of the television show, “Zydeco
Experience”, and he has performed across America and
Canada, on television and radio, and recorded nine albums.
The Bayou Gypsies are each accomplished musicians who have toured
the United States and Europe and has been featured on various
recordings with numerous Zydeco musicians such as Bo Didley and
Otis Bush.
The band also donates their time and talent on behalf of children's
organizations and charities, such Urban Gateways: Center for
